Come diving with great white sharks!

This is your chance to get up close and personal with the largest predatory sharks in the sea:

At Guadalupe Island, great white sharks approach the cages and divers VERY closely making this the most thrilling white shark encounter in the world.

No diving certifications required!

Guests on this particular trip are not required to have any scuba diving experience or certifications if they limit their diving to the two surface cages. However, anyone wishing to enjoy the perspective of looking up at the sharks from 30-40ft down in the submersible cage, must be a certified scuba diver.

Unparalleled water clarity

You can dive with great white sharks in a number of places around the world from South Africa to New Zealand but all of those places are plagued by green water that lowers visibility. Bad viz days at Guadalupe are practically unheard of so expect visibility ranging from 60 ft to 150 ft.

Amazing photography opportunities

These images speak for themselves. Guadalupe Island is home to some of the largest white sharks in the world and they are not shy around the cages. Expect passes close enough to see every pore on the sharks nose!

Plus, more world-class wildlife viewing opportunities

This adventure is all about being in the water with great white sharks but you may also have some great opportunities to see Northern Elephant Seals, California sea lions and endemic Guadalupe fur seals. The bird life around Guadalupe is also top notch with many species of gulls, turns and comical brown boobies.

GUADALUPE ISLAND GREAT WHITE SHARK EXPEDITION ITINERARY/LOGISTICS

Although Guadalupe Island is in Mexico, to make it easy for our guests, this expedition starts and finishes in San Diego. We will take the group in a private coach across the border (about 3-4 hours)Flights to San Diego are NOT included in the expedition package.

Day 1 Meet in San Diego and transfer to Ensenada in Northern Baja where you will board the liveabaord. Followed by cabin assignments and a short orientation about the ship. As soon as everyone is settled we will leave Ensenada for the crossing to Guadalupe. For the rest of the day you’re welcome to relax in the salon and watch movies or hang out on the outer decks to spot whales and dolphins that are frequently seen during the transit.
Day 2 We will arrive at Guadalupe Island around 8am. While you enjoy a hearty Mexican breakfast, the crew will prepare the cages and run a chum slick to attract the sharks.
After breakfast you will receive a short dive briefing and then the first guests will gear up and enter the cages.
We will break for lunch in the early afternoon and continue diving again right up until sunset.
A delicious dinner will be served around 6-7 pm. After dinner you are free to relax and swap encounter stories with the other guests or plug in and review your underwater images.
Day 3 Same as day 2 but if it can be arranged, during the evening there will be a presentation on white shark behavior by Dr Mauricio Hoyos; a white shark expert that stays on Guadalupe during the white shark season to record the special movements of these magnificent animals.
Day 4 More time with the sharks, or you can relax on deck soaking up the sun, or enjoy a wide selection of movies through the ships entertainment system.
Day 5 Last day with the sharks. Around 3pm the cages will be hoisted back on deck for the overnight run back to Ensenada.
Day 6 After a leisurely breakfast we will arrive back in port and disembark then transfer back to San Diego.
